Dad's PhotoWelcome to YOWBABY.   Back in January of 1969, Jerry YOW had his last BABY girl.  That girl is me.

My Father was the best.   Although he may not have had a college education, he taught us by his example to work hard, love one another and never give up, no matter what obstacles you may face.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and just loved being silly. “Please, don’t take my silliness away,” he once said.

My father also suffered from epilepsy.   After being hit in the head with a flying baseball as a young boy, he immediately dropped to the ground and had his first seizure.   Epilepsy affected his entire life from that moment.   He experienced degeneration of the nerves in his legs, massive seizures, daily medications and depression.  However, through all of that, he never complained and always took care of his family. Always!

Epilepsy affects over three million Americans and 60 million people worlwide.  It is a disorder that is as common as Breast Cancer and takes as many lives; however, receives much less federal funding than any other disease.  Approximately one-third of people with epilepsy will continue having seizures, despite taking daily medications.  Seizures are sudden events that strike people without warning.  Because of the unpredictability of  a seizure,  people with epilepsy live in constant fear, which seriously impacts their quality of life.   Yowbaby, Inc. supports  Epilepsy Awareness by donating 5 percent of all gross sales to the Epilepsy Foundation of Oklahoma, my father’s home state.

In honor of Jerry Yow, my dad, this company’s name, YOWBABY, and the “silly” little monkey logo, are dedicated to him.
